Forty Years of Texas Builds. Now Bringing Properties Back.
RGC Leak Detection is one technician, one truck, and four decades of pattern recognition. The person who picks up the phone is the person who finds your leak, across Tarrant, Johnson county and the surrounding areas.
Ralph started building Texas homes the year the cell phone got commercial. Forty years and countless builds and remodels later, he's running detection on the same houses he helped frame.

"I've been building these homes since the '80s. I know where they leak. The equipment just confirms what I already suspect when I walk in the door."
Ralph received his degree in Building Construction Technology at Texas State Technical College in 1985. He spent four decades on Texas residential construction sites: foundation crews, plumbing rough-ins, slab pours, custom builds, full-house remodels in Tarrant, Johnson, and surrounding areas.
The pattern recognition is the work. Texas residential plumbing fails in predictable ways. The cast iron in 1960s Tarrant County bungalows. The slab penetrations on 1980s tract housing across the surrounding areas. The PEX manifolds in early-2000s Burleson subdivisions. The expansive-clay soil cycle that drags foundations a quarter-inch every season. Over the years, houses start to talk.
RGC is the second act: the same eye, the same ear, modern instruments. Professional LeakTronics acoustic equipment paired with thermal imaging. Walk-in to walk-out, most leaks located inside two hours. No demolition. No guessing.
1985
Started in Texas residential construction
Foundation crews and plumbing rough-ins out of high school. Learned how a Texas slab gets built from the dirt up.
1990s
Custom builds and remodels
Full-house projects across DFW. Plumbing systems, slab pours, finish work. The decade where the patterns started showing up.
2000s
Construction technology degree
Building Construction Technology at Texas State Technical College. Bridged decades of field experience with the formal building science behind it.
2010s
Project management and consulting
Began running other crews' jobs. Saw how leaks recur in the same neighborhoods, the same construction eras, the same failure points.
2026
RGC Leak Detection
Founded as a detection-only service. The instruments are modern; the pattern recognition is forty years deep. One truck, one technician, one report.
A real person should pick up the phone.
Not a call center. Not a routing tree. The technician who answers is the technician who shows up.
Honest about what we do and don't.
We find leaks and document them. Repairs stay with the licensed plumber of your choice — that separation keeps the work clean and the customer informed.
Same-week beats same-hour false promises.
One truck, one schedule. We don't over-promise an hour we can't hit. If we say Tuesday at 2pm, we're there at 2pm.
Equipment and method
Two instruments. No demolition.
Leaks don't announce themselves, but they leave a signature. The right pair of instruments reads that signature without opening a single wall.
01
LeakTronics acoustic equipment
Professional-grade ground microphones and pressure sensors that hear water escaping a pressurized line through slab, soil, and concrete. The sound of a leak is distinct once you know how to listen.
Best forThe primary tool on every job. Catches most pressurized line leaks.
02
Thermal imaging
A thermal camera reads the temperature differences a hidden leak creates — the cool footprint of water spreading under a slab, the warm trail of a hot-water line break behind a wall.
Best forConfirming slab leaks, hidden line breaks, and behind-wall leaks.
Two services. One company.
Leak detection is the primary work. Construction is the long story.
RGC operates in two lanes. They share Ralph's experience and his standards; they don't share a sales process. Use whichever fits your situation.
Primary
Leak Detection
Non-invasive detection across Tarrant, Johnson county, and the surrounding areas.
Forty years of building means Ralph can also oversee the repair and remodel work that follows a leak. Available on a limited, referral basis for existing clients.
RGC Leak Detection is owned and operated by Ralph Garrett, a Texas residential construction professional with a degree in Building Construction Technology and four decades of field experience. The business carries liability insurance and works strictly within a tight local radius so the same person handles every call.
RGC detects and documents leaks; it does not perform plumbing repairs. Findings are handed to the licensed plumber of your choice, which keeps the detection honest and the customer in control of the repair.
